Northwest Iowa
Have you unscrewed the float ball from the arm and checked for it having water in it? If it is half full, it may just need to be emptied to allow it to ride higher in the water and put more pressure on the stop. Is there enough room to put a larger float on it or a longer arm? I have replaced some older style valves that had this problem with a new Franklin valve and they don't seem to bounce. I'm not sure what Bomgaars has on hand. John at Sioux Automation may have some ideas to help you on a budget. Ron at Hogslat may have an idea too.
