Sanilac Co. Michigan | I didn't refer to any gods! What I did say is that unless you can personally demonstrate any given solution, your position will rely on what someone else said. Might be correct, might be incorrect but it comes down to what YOU BELIEVE TO BE TRUE. Really doesn't have anything to do with "science", unless you're using the scientific approach to solve any given problem.
What's so hard to understand? Let's take the topic of this thread for example. Someone says a solar eclipse will take place that can be seen at a certain place, at a certain time, on a certain date. Unless you can personally prove this will take place, that is, work it out all by yourself, you will have to rely on information provided by others. You trust their "facts", even though you personally may not be able to prove them yourself.
Now, there's nothing really wrong with this, no one can be expected to have the absolute answer to everything, it's just how we try to make sense of things.
And that's the point of this exercise, it all comes down to DISCERNMENT. That's how we form our views and it's not to be expected that all people will discern all events the same way.
In any given subject, look at the evidence to what is attested to be true and discern for yourself whether you believe it to be so. Yup, that's the heart of faith | |
