Ne Nebraska		Sorry to hear your loss. Tough one.

I'm with the others as male/female doesn't matter that much but whatever you get, spay/neuter. That will fix most of your issues you brought up.

That said, we've always had females canine on our farm cause that's what my Dad thought was best.
