Near-north Ontario, French River | My guess would be nematodes and/or aphids. In ideal growing conditions like most of us had this summer the symptoms wont show up but the damage is still done. Three years ago in our area many guys had what they thought was a 50+ bu crop in the field, but when the pulled in with combines they found many empty pods and low yields, many avergaging in the low 30's, the cause .... aphids. With ample rain the plants dont show the wilting effects that they would in a dry year, but the yield is lost none the less. |
