Central ND
I remeber byuying gas in the late 70's when it went over a buck. Local stations pumps were set up for half price per galon on the meter and they multiplied what it read X2 since the pumps werent made to count at a price over a dollar a gallon.
I have a marlin 22 semi auto that I purchased with fox and muskrat pelt money in about 1977? It was from a coast to coast story with a cheapy scope for 69$ it too has survived 40 years of banging around in pickups and tractors most of its life / been through 3 boys and myself and works good as long as you keep it clean.
1976-77..... A Pack of brand name smokes .55 cents. I think a case of beer was under 9$There was a demand for fox and coyot pelts and mink...... I believe coyote at one point in the late 70'2 was 90$ and red fox was up to 50-60$
Early 70's, my buddy tells me about picking up pop bottles at college he was attending to get enough gas money to get back home to his dads farm for the weekend.Bottles were a nickel each.
I remember my dad buying some rough upland prarie left behind from a goverment project for 30 bucks(yes, an acre) and our relatives told us we were nuts in our heads to pay that for rocks and hills.Too bad it wasnt a BUNCH MORE ACRES like those.......
Somewhere around 2010, my aged retired dad made the comment...... I hear corn seed must have really went up in price. Then he said" I BET YOU CANT even BUY A BUSHEL OF SEED UNDER $40 anymore!!!! (yep he was right)
