But I would also bet that he never farmed west of the Missouri River.

A dry year for those east of there is probably an average year for us out here. And the Front Range usually gets a whole lot less rain than we do. It would be interesting to see what you get when you have a year that your total rainfall is in the single digits.

And remember, when we get dry, like the post down below refers to, we have humidity levels in the 10% range, temperatures usually 100+ and a nice gentle 20mph breeze that will cure concrete in a day.

Just like everything else in farming, what applies in one region, probably doesn't apply in other regions.
