Subject: My short exercise in balance saturation

Little River, TX
Read some on balanced saturation.
On one field my measured average CEC is 55.9 meq/100g
Soil test is 512 ppm K: 312 ppm Mg: 9822 ppm Ca.

Using my magic factors times the CEC I would want my soil test should be;
K 451 - 584 ppm K
Mg 352 - 699 ppm Mg
Ca 8670 ppm ca

Currently the potash & Magnesium should be margionally higher. I have added 1,000 lbs/A of K Mag.

For a balanced saturation they values, considering my calcium levels, should be: 852 ppm K: 1048 ppm Mg.
Reminds me of the old saying, You can not get there from here.

This is why I do not consider a balanced saturation ratio. Need to do something constructive and watch the wife mow the lawn.
