Week ago this past Friday, a cousin of mine was cutting beans around noon when his 92 year old Dad pulled up and climbed into the combine and sat down with a handful of beans and told him where he thought they should move to nextafter finishing the farm they were on.  Rode a couple rounds, talked some about the yield monitor since it had just gotten repaired that morning, and climbed down.  Two hours later he was coming back through the gate to that same field and had a truck accident, and 7 hours after that he was gone.  I was glad they had that last combine ride as their last moments together.  Something special about 92 years of life, WWII Marine Vet, teacher, and lifelong farmer, and he too saw a lot of changes.. and to live a healthy life that long, still mowing everyone's yards this summer and riding combines, etc all the way up until the final few hours, we should all wish to be so lucky.
