Subject: RE: Farm labor requirements.

Saronville NE
Were at 1000-1100 acres, custom plant another 500. Have 50 cows, custom feed 450 head of backgrounders. Custom hay another 300 acres alfalfa, plus 200 acres of grass. Do all own fertilizing, tillage, silage, manure. Hire spraying, and about 1/4 of the trucking of grain. Harvest with a neighbor, harvest about 1600 acres. My dad is 68 with health problems. He runs grain cart, swaths alfalfa only, runs for parts. Otherwise its just me. It us wearing on me. Lots of stuff gets neglected that isn't time for. Its not unusual to not be in house before 11 at nite 75% of the time between Apr 10 and the end of irrigating. Need a FT guy but cash flow is tight.
