I'm kinda slow but how is she out any money. Maybe I'm not reading it right.

She contacted him and he told her to go ahead and cash it and the rest was for the movers that would pick it up. She asked him if he trusted the movers. He said that is true, so she should deposit it in the Bank of America movers account. She didn't know where that was, so he gave her directions and said to keep $20 for her trouble.

They had her go ahead and put $1700 in another account they had set up, by the time their check is shown to be fraudulent they are long gone. Her money is long gone.

Scum of the earth. And that is not nearly strong enough language.

Scammers called my grandparents as imposters acting like he was a great grandson that had been thrown in jail and needed bail money fast. Disguised his voice by claiming he had a bad cold and had been crying. Almost hooked them into going to Walmart and buying them some kind of money card. Luckily they came to their senses and called the "grandson's" mother to find out what was going on. Figured it out then.
