Subject: RE: Going uninsured

North Central MN
I agree that some minimal expenses could be cut, but wouldn't amount to much in the end. We don't eat out, my mom raises beef and we buy meat from her quite cheaply. Very little credit card debt, from a couple emergencies. Almost finished with my last student loan. Right now 21% of my income goes to insurance, and at the rate of increases we'll be at 30-40 soon. 21% is still too much, not eligible for any tax credits.

I meant my health insurance premiums are double my mortgage payment. We have one option for health insurance where I live. Whats the point in paying 12-1500 a month in premiums and having a deductible of 13k? Why wouldn't I carry catastrophic and save all the money I'd spend on the cheapest plan and use that to pay out of pocket?
