Not true------------A majority of Drs have a write-off program before hospitals do it just takes time to get to that point. a relative of mine had open heart surgery and the surgeon settled for 30% of the bill in 100$ bills. I was there and saw the whole thing. It also helps on taxes to have some charity care write-offs
