I believe a minimum of 4" of concrete would be required and then on a 32x32 building I'm pretty sure it would crack.  That would then put me back where I am now and concrete seems to cause condensation on table saws, jointers, drill press tables, and planers.  I'd like to have a floor that wasn't hard on my legs and feet and wasn't cold.

Thank you all for the information, looks like blacktop is out.

It'll be next year before I can do this because all the tools and wood will have to be removed before we can do the floor.  I'll have to work something out with a neighbor so I can temporarily store some of this stuff.

Rent a shipping container and put your stuff in it while you remodel. Bet it never leaves the place.
