I'm not 100% sure what you are asking, but I think you are wanting to move the hitch point 7.5" so you straddle old rows and plant split row beans.

I can slide the drawbar on my 1086 further than that (7.5").

I parked the tractor on the shop floor and hung a string and bolt down to mark the hitch point.....then moved and measured how far the hitch point was when I started swinging the drawbar.
