Subject: RE: Decent float valve for a cattle waterer

Redickville, Ont
I thought I went to heaven when I switched from Ritchie floats to Franklin. What we did to keep silt out of the Ritchie was install filter if you have a way of hooking on. It was the little Richie floats that we had trouble with. Absolutely junk with our water. The bigger ones never have trouble with. Have two big ones left over 40 years now. Just about rotted out. Have couple little ones i converted over. I think filter only way you'll fix that problem if you got sand.
