Southern NJ | I did a front porch with azek composite boards. They also have a fascia board. Looks great although was much more costly than treated lumber. I did 12 inch centers and recommend it.
Don't notice much fading with ours although it doesn't get all that much direct sun. In general I would shy away from darker colors. Also the composite can be a little slick with frost or ice.
To clarify I used the poly board. I just looked at their website and they also see a poly capped board. I liked that there was no filler sawdust etc in the poly board. Ours has been up atleast 8 years.
