| Oh, forgot to mention a couple of things- this accuracy only applies to flat fields without big dips or hills in the middle of them. Dips and hills contribute to the surface area for spraying/yield considerations but not for strict 2D area (like mickey mouse surveying a piece for sale). A slant to the field will (probably) subtract from your actual acreage, but this may (or may not) vary from unit to unit. I don't have any surveyed fields on a good slope so haven't been able to test that accurately. I just consider mine pretty bloody good and accurate on decent sized fields to within a few percent most of the time to give myself some wiggle room for error. | |
