My opinion is history repeats itself. Looking back I worked for my dad from the middle sixties to 1981 when I bought him out. My dad farmed through the 70's was quite progressive but was not a big spender. During the inflation years of the 70's he took advantage of the inflation to retire a quite a bit of debt and didn't buy any overpriced land. So when I bought him out in the 80's he was in a position to give me a break on an interest rate. It comes down to how you handle the good years to handle the bad years.
