illfarmr - 11/5/2016 17:58 I was so frustrated about being unable to reach them by fax or email. Finally took to Facebook. Boy, talk about a fast response!!!! The lady assured me that they had everything they needed and the checks were in the mail for my late daughter's 401k. I thanked her very much, and asked about her the Defined Benefits Retirement Plan. She replied that it was handled by my daughter's old company, and she had never heard of the lady I have been talking to. It appears that all of the information I was faxing to lady number one was getting to Vanguard, but not to the lady I have been talking to the last five years. I even received my check today. So, I guess Monday I again call the lady I have been talking with for the last five years and find out who she works for. And then away we go again. But, it appears Vanguard is clean in this. And I have apologized to them.


Glad to hear you had a good resolution to your problem. Certainly was enough of an ordeal to have lost your precious daughter.....you shouldn't have had to go thru all the rest of this too. It seems that once a situation hits a more public space, like Facebook or similar, the powers that be are all very anxious to make you happy. It's too bad that this has to happen, but I'm thankful that you found something that budged this all off of dead center. Thanks for the update!
