Texas/New Mexico Stateline | My grandparents for years locked the door going from the garage to the house, and hung the key literally 3 ft to the left on the wall in plain sight. I never did understand the point of that!!
Finally after a while they moved the key to a drawer on a workbench a few ft further away. Probably would stop the neighbors from coming in. But in all reality if your house is going to get broken into, a lock isn't going to make any difference.
