East Palestine, Ohio (Columbiana Co.) | When we moved from stanchion barn to parlor in 1960, Surge had feeders for in the parlor touting still being able to individually feed each cow to match her production. The saw tooth or front herringbone each had a bowl that caught feed dropped out of the small bin in front of each cow. There were pull rops for each spot that dropped aset amount of feed each time u pulled the rope, better cows given more pulls. Cows had to be driven out of parlor because they would 'nt willingly leave where they were being fed and every cow had to check every feed bowl on the way out, and it was a double eight. I dont think the practice last until the stuff rotted out as it was taking as long or longer to milk in parlor with 8milkers as it did in the barn with 2. Dont know if this would cross over to goats or not.......
