Friend of mine says his grandmother used to cook pokeweed for use in salads and greens. She would only use leaves from young sprouts and boiled them several times before use.
I have always been told that Pokeweed leaves, roots, and berries are all very poisonous. Evidently there are people who cook it as I search around on the Internet. Seems to be more common in the Deep South from what I read.
Anybody ever cooked/eaten it? Think I will stick with foods that don't need the danger boiled out of them, but still kind of curious.
