What age and weight to shoot for slaughter?
Honestly I don't know, I buy bottle calves and sell as feeders my dad has been buying most lately. He is maybe 100lbs less then the holstiens his age and my guess will finish at 1200. Dad doesn't really keep much for records, when the look finished the go on the trailer. They are put on a self feeder and let them do their job.
The feeder market for Jersey's is poor so I try to stay away from them. I really do like Jersey's and hate brown Swiss.
