Subject: Timed AI using MGA

Just outside downtown Prairie Hill
Interesting post on AI down the page. My question is how have you folks gotten along with using the MGA protocol? My understanding is feed MGA for 14 days. On day 33 they get a shot of lutalyse then breed 72hrs +-2hrs with a shot of GnRH. I want to do this on young cows with calves. What kind of conception rates are normal? This would be only 2 passes thru the chute so that would be workable for us. Do the cows need to be 60 days post calving? I have heard that this protocol has fallen out of favor. Thanks
