I'd sure like to get something like that done, I'm tired of glasses. Can't see good anyhow as these are so scratched up. And I look like a complete dork with my over-the-glasses sunglasses/safety glasses, but I can't go without them.


When my wife had them done, insurance would pay for the "clear", non-corrective lenses when replaced when cataracts were removed, but wouldn't pay for the correctives. We paid that ourselves, $3500.00 for both eyes, just for the difference in lenses, but it was worth it.
They might be covered now, IDK. That was 11 years ago, and the correctives were new to the procedure.

I'd be curious to know if they are covered now, and what the difference is between "clear" and corrective.

And as you mentioned scratches, my next glasses are going to be glass. No more plastic for me. I don't have the cleaning stuff with me when they get dirty, so I use my shirt. Not good.
