VT | You definitely get access to a wider choice of better bulls.
I have done heifers with lutylase and watching for heats with good success. I am planning to switch to timed AI using the 5 day co-synch with CIDR. More shots and higher cost but straight forward in that I work with them over one week and then turn them out with the clean up bull and am done.

Have had some problems the last two years that I attribute to unusually hot summers.
I took a class with Genex and did it myself after arm service disappeared from my area. Well worth it. It is really not that hard. The problem with beef is that you only do it once a year. I raise some dairy heifers so I do it more often and it helps keep my skills up. | |
