I agree with Roo on this one, either ship her or put her in the freezer. Not chance I would try to make a problem gilt into a sow even if she spit out 20 golden piglets each time. If she gets healthy I doubt this will be the last time you have problems with her. Unless her mother was really old, or got hit by a bus, her dying would have been the first red flag for me.


Her mother died because a friend of mine accidently let a group of older sows get at her. I am not willing to give up on her when she was likely injured, the vet believes she was likely layed on while in the mud, if I believed it was genetic I would agree.

Has anyone seen something like this? Did they come out of it, if so how long?
