Yes, CIH offers an adapter to mount the older series heads to the newer series combines. According to our CIH dealer all the new series combnes , 5088s up thru the 9120 has a different throat than the 2x88 series. We have a new 3412 head on order and when pricing a 6088 & 7088 we were told we would have to buy an adapter. Also would require an adapter to put a 1020 platform on the new combines but dealer didn't recomend the adapter & that we would be happier with a new style platform

Looks like CIH has decided to go JDs route & force new combine buyers to trade heads as well. Sure was convient before when any IH head from the 8xx series up would interchange with just a change in filler plates.Guess it was costing them too many head sales

PPrice the dealer quoted us was around $2,500 for the adapter.
