I have always considered my skill with a welder and cutting torch one of my most valuable skills on my farm. I have repaired, rebuilt, and built much of my farm machinery. In the 80s and early 90s I Lengthened frames and then installed grain beds and hoists on about 25 semi tractors to make tandem grain trucks out of them. Never could have done that without that welding skill.
