My first thought would be to check with the LA Dept. of Insurance and see if they are licensed to operate in LA. If so, have any complaints been filed against this organization?
They won't be listed. Because they explicitly say they are NOT insurance, not regulated as insurance, and they have no obligation to pay all your bills. You have to agree to those terms to be part of the plan.
It is simply a big pool of people agreeing to help pay your bills, administered by a non-profit organization.
