| The eighties either eliminated a lot of younger farmers or stopped a generation from entering farming. Instead of low grain prices and high interest rates the high health care cost and low grain prices will increase the average age of farmers. I'd like to see younger guys farming and raising families in our neighborhood but I'll never live long enough to see it. Every year you see fewer school buses and larger equipment. You see younger guys with jobs with health insurance that farm part-time and never sleep helping out but how long can they do this? | |
