Yes, both the red and the black wire come from the distributor. The alternator has two wires plus a short jumper wire. I will check it out tomorrow. Thanks.




OK, with both a red and black wire from the distributor, almost 100% certain that it already has a Pertronix electronic ignition unit installed. The coil should also have another wire from the tractor harness connected to the coil + terminal, so an original harness wire plus the red dist wire to coil pos and the black dist wire alone on the coil - terminal. This would also indicate the tractor is set up for neg ground.

The alternator with the jumper wire from the alternator BAT stud to the regulator #2 terminal also indicates that the alternator is a Delco SI series with internal regulator.
