Central NE | rosiesdad - 10/31/2016 19:01 Its hard to believe that at that time the only Non Jewish religion was Catholic. During that time the Pope and the Emperor/Leader of the State usually were related. The Church.... Well, do some research and you will find out why Luther said enough. Today I wish every Church followed the Bible and 10 Commandments.
The Roman Catholic church did not have a monopoly on Christianity then or at any time. The Coptic Christian Church in Egypt started by Mark https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coptic_Orthodox_Church_of_Alexandria, the Armenian Church started by Barthalamew and Thaddeous https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Apostolic_Church, a church in India started by Thomas https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Thomas_Christian_Churches, Ethiopian church https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopian_Orthodox_Tewahedo_Church and several other Eastern churches https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_the_East such as the Assyrian church was as far east as China. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assyrian_Church_of_the_East started by the other disciples who were alive at the time of Jesus. Several more churches started later through movements of the Holy spirit resulted in martyrs being burned at the stake at the hands of the Roman Catholic church. http://thejesusway.info/pdf/PilgrimChurch/PilgrimChurchVer-0200-beta.pdf These are all seperate from the Eastern ,Greek, Russian and other Orthodox churches that have their roots in the eastern roman empire.
The Roman Catholic church was building St. Peters Bassilica in Rome at the time and funding it with indulgences. Sad that so many think of it as the face of Christianity.
P.S. Congrats on #1 Jimmy and #2 as well
