Subject: RE: Row crop quad track

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
An articulated tractor works just fine for side dressing. I side dressed with a 17 knife (16 row)40 foot n-h3 bar for years with an old 8630 John Deere, and we have some very steep side hills.

I did steer the tractor myself with a little help from the seat of pants. It did take a round or two every year to get used to the rig. You're not going to run exactly in the middle of the row at all times, that never seemed to matter to the corn.

I'm not sure how good auto steer would do if you had side hills.
