Subject: RE: hints for loading trucks on the road - wet field

Floyd County, Iowa
Did that one year back in the 80's.
We set an auger up with a gravity wagon. Dumped from combine into the wagon, truck sat on the road.
Wet fall, then got wet mushy snow. Snow hung on the stalks and ears for days, just warm enough to hang on and plug sieves during the day. Ended up waiting until dark when it got colder to combine. Then the snow fell off as soon as snout touched the stalk. Wasn't fun.
