MN | I have been thinking of doing the same thing with the same size generator. All you need to do is pull off the gear drive in the front of the generator and hook it direct. You may want to put some form of clutch in between engine and generator. I think proper rpm is 1800. I was thinking a good motor would be Cummins out of a old dodge pickup it would be more than needed but it should be reasonably priced.
