The Internet

5288 - 10/31/2016 22:22 Yes i like the cab seat ect. But why do you need a touch screen to run a cutter. Four levers would run ever thing and less to break. Same as a comebine one built ten years ago will do the same has a new one if it was new.

The electronics certainly have their issues and that includes things like home computers and my pox ridden printer, but over all they are great on farm machines.

The reason electronic controls were introduced in the first place was it made it easier to seal the cabs up and you can put the controls where ever you want.

I don't buy the manual controls being more reliable. There have been plenty of cable operated controls fail, gear selectors break and often a mechanical fault caused the electrical fault, or the error code is telling you want the mechanical issue is.

Electronics are dirt cheap and we are in a golden age of it, so why not use this technology to make life easier?
