sw ontario | Took a little road trip to day to Amish /Mennontie country and always amazed at the nice farms and yards and lots of kids . Was at 3 different mennonite shops and none of houses had electric power but all had nice little welding/mfg./ machine shops with generator power,fork lifts,skid steers and cell phones and guy made my bill out on a computer.....on post a few days ago when young guy was asking about renting land if you want too farm you need either off farm job or a little farm business/livestock....the Amish/Mennonite are facing same issues with there kids as a nice 50 acre farm was for sale there with some beef barns,house (all older) asking price $2.6 mil. CAD......other than a select few not many families being able to get kids into farming as sole job....lots of cab less 60-70 hp. tractors ploughing with 3 bottom mounted plows | |
