Local friend of a friend got in an accident this spring, then they thought he was having a heart attack...about 70 years old. So they life-flighted him 60 miles to Des Moines. When they got the bill it was very close to $100,000. Medicare will pay 80%, but they are responsible for the other $20 grand.
HTH does that cost $100 K per flight. THIS is what is wrong with America's health care anymore. helicopter ride here will run $15,000. For a 40 mile ride. Sister was on it a year ago November 9 and I worked around them for several years. I find this very hard to believe. |
