Subject: RE: Monarchs on asters

I was on 10 GHz. I claimed 67,531 points when I sent in my log. Won't know my standing for sure for a few months, but WB0LJC who usually wins claims 70,000 points and I know he made contacts that I didn't. I made 278 contacts and he made 288 contacts averaging about 180 km. The contest is scored on total distances between 6 digit grid square centers in km. I think my score is probably second in the central US, last year I was third in the world, the years before fourth. W0ZQ didn't rove the last two years so I beat his score but there was a California score between mine and LJC's each year. There were more stations on the hill at the twin cities than rovers, so the rovers make more contacts than the fixed stations.
