North of London | You have to let people know you are interested in renting ground before they will come to you.
Being an old farmer, now in my seventies, I have had several people approach me to let me know they would be interested in renting/sharecropping/custom farming some or all of my ground when I decide to change.
I would think that would be the people to look for and to approach.
Putting feelers out to people who are approaching retiring or slowing down could result in word getting back to other landlords already renting if they are looking for a change in tenant. That way you are not 'renting ground away from others' but the word gets around that you are interested and it will get too those who might be interested, especially if they see you doing a good job farming other land in the area.
Good luck! | |
