North Central Kansas | I sold my calves today in Salina. Avg wt was 755 @.93/lb. I was happy. Spread between heifers and steers was only $3-4. That kind of surpised me. Mostly black with some solid reds. There were 3 that weighed 527 that brought 112.50 $592.88 per head. They came off some replacement heifers I bougt. Not as good as a year ago but still good. Weight was less than last year. Not sure on that. Calves looked good. Had to bring one heifer home Bred. Gave all the heifers Estromate to abort 2 weeks ago, but this one must have not took. I missed mine selling on the internet. Watched some later ones they were cutting the reds off and discounting them. They had about 3000 head today for the special Prevac sale. Regular sale is thursday. | |
