Subject: RE: Nasty power plants

Princeton, Indiana
I've spent most of my life within site of Gibson Generating Station. In elementary school I bet half our dads worked at the power plant. I know the scrubbers made a big difference when they were installed in the late 80s early 90s because now the soil tests call for sulfur in many places. Bet the anti-coal folks won't mention that little fact. There is a group here called 'Valley Watch' they make a lot of noise in the summer about air pollution. Usually don't hear much in the winter from them.

Anyone remember 'acid rain'? wasn't it going to kill us all? or was if CFCs? or the hole in the ozone? I forget...
