the rubber piece is molded/glued to the outside nut on the switch. maybe if you take the nut off and put the rubber seal in the nut and then screw the nut back on it will stay. if it fits back in nicely maybe a drop of glue will help hold in the nut. you might have to take one of the panels off to hold the switch in while doing this.
