Subject: RE: Are front wheel drive vehicles safer?

Elmira, Ontario

801486 - 10/28/2016 23:34 My wife and were driving home from Sioux falls once, she was in a front wheel drive car and I was in a rear wheel drive pickup with some weight added. We were going 80 like the rest of the traffic. After a while I noticed I was starting to slowly fish tail on the bridges. I started flashing my lights to get my wife's attention (pre cell phone days) to tell her to slow down. She either didn't see or ignored me so I slowed down and let her go on ahead. When we got home she didn't feel anything on the bridges. So with the front wheels pulling instead of the back wheels pushing you might be less likely to go into a skid when you are not expecting ice.

I've noticed that a front drive car that needs an alignment will also fish tail just slightly when it hits ice.or slush.
