Subject: RE: Are front wheel drive vehicles safer?

North East Wimmera district of Victoria.
Learned to drive on wet dirt roads and grass paddocks.
Like someone said, second nature to steer out of a skid, and all the years before front wheel drives came in are hard to ' unlearn' !
Have owned a couple of front engine, front wheel drive cars, and as most of our driving is on sealed roads, it does not matter much.
My sister, 5 yrs older was taking friends up to the snow. When the road became a little icey, she corrected a skid!
One of her passengers asked "How did you learn to do that! "
Her responce was " Do what?" Still ingrained after 40 plus year in the city! So much so she had not even realised what she had had to do.
If I am on a slippery road to this day, I will turn off the 'stability control' I much rather the seat of my pants telling me what to do before I even have to think! Having some electronics slow me and whatever else is not the way I wish to go!
