WY, OK

Current system won't be around much longer either way you look at it.  Most likely we'll all be paying more in withholdings for single payer system as a "fix" but with all withholding right now most people are just clueless as to how much they are losing since they never see their full salary and the employer technically pays about half into the withholding.  Of course we are also getting perilously close to half the people not paying any income tax and that will really get ugly.  More tax for thee none for me.

Most young people make low enough salaries that they just pay the meager penalty of a couple % a month or two of health insurance is usually all that equates to.  Some do that and have some kind of an HSA account to try and cover for a big health problem.  As for student loans a lot of kids shouldn't be going to any 4 year school, they would be far ahead to immediately get in the workforce or just do a quick 1-2 year community college.

I know some in other sectors who are feeling the pain but a lot of people working for the gvt. or large corporations aren't yet.  When they start not getting raises because of it that's when they'll get a clue, of course that won't happen to the gvt. sector jobs.
