Those darn things are the reason we don't have any Grouse, Quail, or Rabbits left.
We are 50/50 hardwoods and tillable ground. All the fields in this region are surrounded by heavy tree lines. Dad and Grandpa talk about hunting rabbits back in the day when there was a group under every fallen log in the woods. Habitat has only gotten better for them since then with all the unmaintained fences growing up.
Now we only occasionally scare them up when mowing hay.
The coyotes can be heard howling every night though...
