OP here. thanks for the input. John, your description fits my observation. For us, the larger thicker blades do seem to roll over stuff especially if you think you want to work at a shallow depth. - makes sense now. We had been used to using a disk as an ok finishing tool, but this Sunflower with larger thicker blades is not capable of a "lighter touch" when you need it IMO. It really wants to be a plow. Is there a tool we could trade into that would be a happy medium? I have wondered about a different disk, or some of the more disk like "vertical tillage" tools - a Sunflower 6630/6631, or Earthmaster Vertigo, or the Landoll... etc.
