As a rule of thumb, we recommend 1 hp per 36 us gallons in flat country and 1 hp per 30 gallons in hilly country. Plus another 5 hp per shank in the ground depending on what you have for a tool bar.
If you are in hilly country look for a weight transfer options that lifts the front axle to put more weight on the tractor drawbar for more traction.
